THE SHOW & Final Rehearsals

15th October 2024

This was the final week. We had to establish our final results and rehearse them. We performed the whole movie and kept going back to any points that needed strengthening. Simon was experiencing the rehearsals as if it were the actual show; he was always giving us feedback and helping us improve.

This week I realised that the cricket sound effects I had were overpowering and becoming boring to the audience (Simon and Harry), so we decided to not use them throughout the acts.

From my perspective, I wanted to organise my library and split all the sounds I will be using into 6 separate sets to make it less overwhelming when I'm trying to switch between them. By Friday's afternoon I had all my sounds split and organised.

We also started discussing the lighting as it plays a major part. We ended up choosing warm lighting as it fits the movie's vibe the most and is also chilled and relaxing. Then Seb suggested a very good idea; he told Harry to dim the lights when the movie starts rolling.

When we were rehearsing previously the piano was closed but the audio engineer wanted to mic up the piano so he had to open it. Me and Dimz had an issue with that as the piano's lid was blocking our vision so we made slight adjustments to the way we are sat.

After spending the afternoon rehearsing, Thyus, Dimz, Nick, and I had an hour break. We decided to refresh our minds by playing pool and also had lunch. This helped me clear my mind and overcome the majority of my nervous feelings.

Then it was finally showtime people started walking in, the adrenalin started to kick in and I was ready to perform.
